Enterprises within the tourism sector make up approximately 25% of all SMEs in Malta. In 2018, the Energy and Water Agency launched a financial scheme for SMEs, giving them access to a maximum of €5,000 to carry out an energy audit. Through this scheme, enterprises are given the opportunity to engage with a certified energy auditor who will analyze and outline an energy review of the entity’s activities. Through the energy audit, the enterprise can identify actions and investments that may be carried out in order to reduce energy consumption and lower the cost of their energy bill.

- Engage with SMEs which are a considerable part of the tourism sector.
- Promote the use of energy audits as a means to reduce energy consumption.
